What a month!!!  In these uncertain times it is good that Rotary and Rotarians are doing so much to help each other and their communities.  And what a great way to share instantly our news and thoughts—internet is literally a lifesaver in times like these.
We’ve received many questions and suggestions in the past few days, and we’ve tried to keep you all abreast of what’s going on in District 6000. I hope this March edition of D6000  NEWS will help.  One suggestion is to listen to the suggestions and encouragement from Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds about best practices for all of us.  Many of you have asked what your club should do about meetings. I encourage you to follow her directions and to listen to the updates from the CDC.
Unfortunately, our plans for the RD6000 Festival are on hold.  We hope to be able to hold the event at its scheduled time June 25-27 at Prairie Meadows, but we can’t be sure at this time.  Stay tuned and we will update you as we are able to determine our options.
In the meantime, browse through this month’s edition for some great and inspiring stories about our District 6000 clubs and the many members doing inspiring things in their communities.  Look especially for the podcast with Michelle Book this month.  She’s the CEO of the Food Bank of Iowa, which supports and supplies hundreds of local food banks in the state during these trying times.
And be sure to check out the Women in Rotary interview with Hira Mustafa and her true stories about how Rotary Connects the World in everyday ways.
Enjoy this edition, stay healthy, and remember to do something each day for someone who can really use your help. Thanks Rotarians. You do make a difference.
Erna Morain, Governor District 6000
We would love to share your story, so send me an e mail, and pictures if appropriate, so that I can publish it in an upcoming monthly edition. If you have any questions, give me a call at 515-205 2043 or send me an e mail.
